Types of Stockings

Stocking is a loose fitting garment that is used to cover legs. The most commonly known version of stocking is that which covers the entire leg up to the ankle or sometimes part or all the calf. Stocking has different characteristics like ease of wearing, durability, versatility, affordability, and convenience.

The most common form of stocking is the elastic or stretchy type. These come in several styles and colors to suit any outfit. Also, as mentioned earlier, these are available in variety of sizes and colors, especially when it comes to color. Today, stocking is mainly worn for aesthetics and style, typically in relation with short or mid-length skirts or pants.

The most common type of elastic type is the short-sleeved, square-toed type. This kind of stocking has wide elastic bands which run around the ankle and across the leg, but not much beyond that. Other popular variations of this type are those which feature a button on the front which enables you to button up the stocking and also have an elastic band at the end to fasten the stocking securely to your leg.

An alternative to the short-sleeved, square-toed version of the elastic type is the long-sleeved, box-toed, or V-shaped type. With these types of stocking, you can choose between two different styles of hemline which include straight hemline or ruffle hemline. Another variation of this type of stocking is the cap-type stocking, which features an elastic band at the bottom of the stocking which can either fit snugly or not and which also offers a ruffle hemline pattern.

The next most common version of the elastic type is the long-sleeved, cap-style type. The elastic band at the bottom of the stocking is sewn very closely to the leg, which makes it feel like it fits better than the standard square-toed type. These types of stocking are very practical in that they can be worn under normal clothing or skirts that are fitted. This is one of the most versatile types of stocking. You can also choose between different hem lengths for these types of stocks.

Another variation of the elastic type is the lacing type of stocking. With lacing, elastic bands or strings are sewn into the stock that attach either to each other or to the bottom of the stocking itself. Most people find lacing to be comfortable and most comfortable when they are wearing them over regular shorts. However, laces may make it easier for the legs to move around in high-heeled shoes. One of the drawbacks of laces is that they tend to fall out in case the wearer moves his feet while wearing them.
